Since January 2005, the East Valley Community Ministries Consortium has brought together leaders of churches, ministries, and agencies in the East Valley who are actively serving, or want to begin to serve, our local communities. We seek to follow the biblical guidance of Isaiah 58:6-8, Matthew 5:16, and Matthew 25:35-36, and many more scriptures related to care for the poor and vulnerable. Topics of our meetings have included Hunger and Homelessness, Foster Care, Mentoring, Prisoner and Ex-Offender Ministries, Volunteer Mobilization, Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Relief.
All are welcome to attend our meetings, held from 8:30am – 10:00am on the third Thursday of each month. Below is our schedule of meetings for the rest of 2011:
- October 20th - Location is the Central Christian Church’s Higher Grounds Cafe located at 933 N. Lindsay Road Mesa, AZ 85213. Click here for directions.
- November – Instead of our normal meeting, all are invited to attend a special speaking engagement at North Phoenix Baptist Church on Friday, December 2nd. Eric Swanson, co-author of The Externally Focused Church will talk about how churches can become more involved in serving their community. More details to come.
- December – No meeting.
